MY PROCESS
PHONE CALL
We start with a chat over the phone to determine if you're looking for an extensive renovation, or just a refresh for your home. There is no charge for this.
QUESTIONNAIRE
After the phone call, I'll send a questionnaire via email asking about styles, colors, budget, goals, likes & dislikes. This is returned before the in-person consultation. There is no charge for this.
CONSULTATION
I'll visit your home for a one to 1.5 hour site visit to go over the questionnaire, ask questions, assess goals and take photos. I'd love to see any Pinterest boards, saved photos from magazines or websites you gravitate towards. I want to know what you like and don't like! After our visit, I'll email the Fee Proposal within one week for your approval.
$125 fee collected for this visit
MOOD BOARD
After the Fee Proposal is signed and received, I collect a $500 deposit and I get to work. Within a week I'll email you the Mood Board which is a collage of images that are a visual representation of my ideas for your project. After you approve the Mood Board I get to work on the portfolio.
*hourly charge (usually 1-2 hours)
SITE MEASURE/CONTRACTOR VISIT
We may need additional site visits for measurements, depending on the depth of the renovation.
We may also need to meet with a contractor or structural engineer if we are considering removing walls to determine if they are load bearing.
*hourly charge
DIGITAL PORTOLIO
I will complete a personal design portfolio for your space. The portfolio will include photos, links, measurements, layouts and colors of the new fixtures, finishes and furniture. For some items ( not all) I include multiple choices. Portfolios usually range from 10-50 pages.
Please allow three weeks for completion.
*We may need to visit tile, flooring, etc stores together depending on the scope of work and amount of choices you'd like to choose from.
*hourly charge (hours vary)
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
After we go over the portfolio, I am available to make revisions, order items(all purchases will be paid for prior to ordering) , in person shop, track and coordinate deliveries, research other ideas and meet with your contractors. Some clients choose to carry this part of the project forward themselves in a DIY fashion and use my portfolio as a guide. Others don't have the time and patience and hire me to work closely with your contractor to finish the project. I charge my hourly fee for this mid and final stage of the project.
**DESIGNER FOR A DAY (MINI SESSION)
If you have a few samples of tile, hardwood, paint chips picked out and you would just like a second set of eyes I am available for an in-person consultation. Some clients start the process by visiting a tile or flooring showroom and become overwhelmed with all the choices. I can help narrow it down for you! This usually involves you having picked out a handful of choices in multiple fixtures/finishes and I help you choose the final ones.
*hourly charge (six hour minimum)
IMPORTANT TO NOTE
Keep in mind you don't have to start from scratch when wanting a fresh look. Inexpensive ideas and DIY are my speciality. I'm big on re-arranging, re-purposing and shopping for antiques or vintage. BUT, I'm also just as happy helping you shop and purchase brand new items, or a combo of the two.
Organizing
PURGING
It's your choice to decide how we get started. There are two options.
You can go through your items before I arrive and decide what to keep, toss and donate. I am more than happy to visit before this happens and give you tips and advice for getting started on this task. I then start my work organizing what is left in your space.
*hourly charge (hours vary)
OR
I can help you go through your items and purge, and then I start to organize. Some clients need me to help in order to move forward. Clients tell me over and over that they like me holding them accountable as we edit their belongings.
*hourly charge (hours vary)
